Model of auto refractometer (AR) with automatic measures from the beginning to the end of the process. No intervention of the operator is required. The model ARK-F of auto-refract-keratometer includes the measure of the keratometry, useful to adapt contact lenses.
A new, fully automated device completes the range of products dedicated to the objective measurement of refraction. Automatisms can be found at all the levels of the measurement process: from the adjustment of the chinrest position to the measurement of the objective refraction of both eyes. The device provides voice instructions to completely guide the patient. The operator has nothing to do during the examination.
Thanks to its tilting and rotating screen, the ARK-F can easily be installed in the corner of the room of against a wall, to save place and optimise the space in the smallest configurations.
Coupling the SLD (Super Luminescent Diod) and the high-sensibility CCD sensor enables getting sharp and contrast images, even when the corneal reflection is low. Compared with anterior technologies that used a classical LED lighting, this system is more efficient when the transparency of media is altered, such as in case of cataract. The device calculates automatically, during the reading of the refraction, the diameters of the pupil and provides a confidence index of the reading.
Handling is quick, using NIDEK usual controls and an intuitive browsing from the touchscreen.
The auto-refracto-keratometer ARK-F now integrates the measurement if the keratometry (measurement of the corneal radius curvature). Keratometry is useful to identify the radius curvature of contact lenses.
Keratometry measurements are performed using the double ring target technology that reduces the influence of eyelids. Both 3.3 and 2.4 diameters are measured. Both values are then compared to provide a better understanding of the cornea shape.
The ARK-1 model also includes the measurement of the peripheral keratometry.
The ‘Zone Ring’ system has been improved to simultaneously perform the measurement of the central objective refraction and a peripheral measurement. The jamming system, which now integrates the correction of astigmatism, has been redesigned to minimise the consequences of accommodation during the measurement of the refraction.
The AR (K) -F model also integrates the functions of measurement of the amplitude of accommodation and the back-illumination.
Transferring the data of the objective refraction to a NIDEK automatic refractor can be performed through a cable network or a NIDEK EyeCare card.
