The consultation unit AFFINITY is designed for 2 instruments and a refractor arm, with a small footprint. It has been especially designed to optimise the refraction examination. Designed and manufactured in France, Affinity is the reference unit for ophthalmology rooms.
Affinity includes a tray for two or three motorised lift instruments to optimise practitioner comfort regardless of the practitioner’s or patient’s size. The two-instrument tray has a rotational motion for presentation of the first instrument, then a manual or motorised (optional) sliding motion to position the second instrument in front of the patient.
The tray for three instruments is equipped with a smooth double rotation for simple and smooth use. The tray is reinforced to support heavy devices (two or three times 40 kg), making it perfect for use with both refraction and medical consultation instruments. Its pedal-actuated electromagnetic brake system allows antero-posterior adjustment of the plate in any position.
The Affinity has been especially designed. The light column is curved; indeed it makes it a unique unit. Thanks to many details, such as the half-eye shape of the side panels of the grooves on the drawer front, the unit is smart and robust. It can be fitted with one or three drawers to store more easily the test glasses and all daily accessories.
The motorised sliding refractor arm can also tilt (optional on Affinity two-instrument tray) for near vision examinations under more natural conditions. Its height with respect to the tray was studied carefully to maintain constant eye height throughout the examination.
NIDEK France was the first manufacturer that decided to equip his units with the constant eye height feature, for the instruments. No need to adjust both plate and armchair heights now, when switching from an instrument to another one. The Affinity reduces the practitioners’ tiredness and also reduces the average duration of the consultations.
To ensure a stable and comfortable position to the patient, during the examination, the displacement the armchair column is 25 cm. We propose a complete range of armchairs, from the simplest one to the most technical one, and many options, such as armrests, footrests, etc.
All controls are available on an ergonomic control panel and positioned to facilitate daily use and limit musculoskeletal disorders and pain. The tray for three instruments is equipped with a second standard console for direct chair and device height control.
Affinity RT is a version dedicated exclusively to subjective refraction. It houses a refractor arm and a tray for the console. The raising and lowering movements and the sliding extension of the arm are motorised. Arm tilt, as well as the optional electric VP test movement, mean that the unit can be controlled entirely remotely*.
The Affinity consultation unit has been awarded the label ‘Origine France Garantie’ and benefits from a remote control, very useful for telemedicine.
